Journal History

Lex Harmonia: Journal of Legal is a scholarly journal published by the Master of Law Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong (UNAMIN) as a platform for the dissemination of research findings, academic reviews, and critical legal thought. The journal was officially launched in August 2025 as part of UNAMIN’s commitment to advancing high-quality, relevant legal scholarship that contributes to solving legal issues at both national and international levels.

The name Lex Harmonia reflects the journal’s vision of fostering harmony between legal theory and practice, while upholding the principles of justice, legal certainty, and legal utility. Since its inaugural issue, the journal has focused on publishing original research articles, conceptual analyses, and case studies relevant to contemporary legal developments.

The journal is published twice a year, in February and August, and follows a peer-reviewed editorial process. Every submitted manuscript undergoes a rigorous selection process by the editorial board and peer reviewers to ensure academic quality and research integrity.

Through Lex Harmonia, the Master of Law Program at UNAMIN seeks to serve as a forum for the dissemination of legal knowledge, encourage interdisciplinary academic dialogue, and make a meaningful contribution to the development of law in Indonesia, particularly in the West Papua region and its surroundings.
