Generative Artificial Intelligence Use Policy

1. Introduction
The development of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technology, such as artificial intelligence-based software for generating text, summaries, translations, or analyses, has brought significant changes to scientific writing practices. Journal of Law Justice believes that the use of GenAI can provide benefits in supporting academic productivity, but it must still be strictly limited to maintain scientific integrity, originality of work, and the academic responsibility of authors.
Journal of Law Justice has established this policy as a guideline for authors, editors, reviewers, and related parties in using GenAI technology ethically and responsibly.

2. General Principles
   a. Authors are fully responsible for the content of manuscripts submitted to Journal of Law Justice.
   b. GenAI cannot be considered an author or co-author, as it does not have legal or academic responsibility.
   c. The use of GenAI should not replace the author's critical thinking, legal analysis, and scientific argumentation.
   d. Any use of GenAI must uphold the principles of:
      - academic honesty,
      - originality of scientific work, and
      - compliance with scientific publication ethics.

3. Permitted Use of GenAI
Authors are permitted to use GenAI on a limited basis for:
   a. Language and writing editing, including spelling corrections, sentence structure, and academic writing style.
   b. Paraphrasing or editorial improvements, without changing the substance of the author's thoughts and legal arguments.
   c. Language translation, as long as the content of the translation is independently verified by the author.
 d. Non-substantive technical support, such as drafting an initial outline or general summary that is then developed independently.

4. Prohibited Use of GenAI
Authors are prohibited from using GenAI to:
   a. Generate the entire manuscript or major sections of the article (introduction, discussion, legal analysis, and conclusion) without the author's intellectual involvement.
   b. Creating or fabricating data, legal sources, jurisprudence, legislation, or fictitious citations.
   c. Using GenAI to replace the author's legal analysis, interpretation of norms, or scientific opinions.
   d. Plagiarizing, whether from human works or GenAI outputs.

5. Disclosure Requirements
   a. Authors must honestly disclose the use of GenAI in the manuscript writing process.
   b. Disclosure is made in the Ethics Statement / Acknowledgment / Author's Note section, with clear and concise wording.
        Example:
The author used Generative Artificial Intelligence technology solely for language editing and proofreading assistance. The entire substance and legal analysis are the sole responsibility of the author.”

6. Role of Editors and Reviewers
   a. Editors and reviewers are not permitted to use GenAI to evaluate manuscripts in a manner that violates manuscript confidentiality.
   b. Editors have the right to conduct additional checks, including the use of text similarity detection tools or indications of unusual GenAI usage.
   c. Reviewers remain obligated to conduct assessments based on their intellectual capacity and professional expertise, not to replace them with GenAI results.

7. Sanctions for Violations
If a violation of this policy is found, Journal of Law Justice reserves the right to:
   a. Reject manuscripts at the editorial or review stage.
   b. Retract published articles.
   c. Prohibit authors from submitting articles to Journal of Law Justice for a certain period.
   d. Announce the violation in accordance with scientific publication ethics.

8. Closing
This policy is designed to ensure that the use of GenAI technology in Journal of Law Justice remains in line with legal scientific values, academic ethics, and scientific responsibility. This policy may be reviewed and updated in accordance with technological developments and international scientific publication standards.
