Abstract

This research aims to find out the intrinsic elements of Sally Rooney’s novel “Beautiful World, Where Are You”. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The result is finding: 1) Theme of novel are find a way to happiness, romance and friendship and religious. 2) Plot in the story is start when the main characters, Alice and Eileen become adult whose has been unhappy since childhood. Thereafter, recounting the reason why they are not happy and later try to find out either way to find a beautiful world, the resolution when Eileen is pregnant. 3) Setting of places of the novel is Dublin, Village, and Rome, setting of time of the novel is last March, early May, early June, the setting of society is a social background of differences in belief. 4) The characters are Alice, Eileen, Lola, Simon, Felix, Pat, Mary, Paula, Peter, Roisin, Lola and Aidan. 5) Point of view of novel is mixed point of view.
